Successful project with Sun Microsystems
As a result of combining economic practice and scientific research XiCrypt can now claim a new achievement. As member of the international working group ?long-term archiving of digital data? we are proud to be nominated ?SUN Center of Excellence?.
Sun Microsystems acts as coordinator within the working group and provides the requisite hardware. Austrian Literature Online and the Humboldt University Berlin have been working on this issue for a while and can now exchange their experiences and know-how within the group.
XiCrypt is an accredited specialist for digital signatures ? a fact which is especially important for long term archiving of data to ensure that archived data cannot be manipulated.
Like other big companies Sun promotes chosen projects. On top of such promotions are the SUN Centers of Excellence. The nomination for ?Sun Center of Excellence for Trusted Digital Repositories? thus means recognition and commendation for the working group and at the same time provides us the chance to further enhance our achievements with the support of Sun Microsystems.
