| XiCrypt certification services have been established by XiCrypt
to support the XiCrypt product range. They consist of
- XiCrypt-Root-CA, the root of the XiCrypt hierarchy. This service includes all XiCrypt certification services. The Root-CA also represents the gateway to EuroPKI.
- XiCrypt-Timestamping-CA: issues certificates exclusively for timestamping services operated by XiCrypt.
- XiCrypt-Personal-CA: issues certificates for XiCrypt employees and their acquaintances, either friends of responsible XiCrypt employees or persons who can verify their identity with an appropriate ID.
Other CAs are not planned so far.
The XiCrypt certification services are integrated into the EuroPKI hierarchy
(www.europki.org). Thus XiCrypt certificates are also internationally accredited. The EuroPKI certificates, however, are not included in the certificate delivery of Microsoft products or Mozilla and therefore current browsers do not trust the certificates automatically. The credit settings, however, can easily be adapted.
The XiCrypt certification services publish a new certificate cancellation list (CRL) every time a certificate has been cancelled or at least every three months. We chose these intervals because the XiCrypt certification services are expected to issue very few certificates that are cancelled again.
The XiCrypt certification services are subject to the XiCrypt policy, which was also handed in at the Telecom Regulatory authority.
