KELAG works with signed and encrypted EDI data
Companies exchanging orders, parts lists etc. with their partners and customers on an EDI basis had to do without the security of signed and encrypted data exchange so far. With KELAG, the Carinthian Energy Association, XiCrypt managed to transfer EDI data signed and encrypted by using XiCrypt SecureMail Guard.
Many companies stick to the motto ?Never touch a running system? for good reasons and they are afraid of updating well integrated systems even if it means lower data security.
KELAG also had this point of view ? at first ? but then they were pleasantly surprised. XiCrypt implemented SecureMail Guard as a proxy solution in other words, no interference with the existing system was required. The server which signs and encrypts all outgoing data was simply added to the existing system.
With its encryption and signing technology XiCrypt paves the way for many companies to increased data security for communications with customers and partners.
